In August of 2002 we purchased a 4 unit apartment building and a small house bordering on Hethwood Subdivision in Blacksburg. Foxridge is in Hethwood. The large homes at the Stroubles Mill portion of Hethwood are across the street from 1849 and 1855 Merrimac Road.

Directions to Forests Edge: Follow Prices Fork Road from Blacksburg, past the new Blacksburg Middle School. Turn left onto Merrimac Road just after the road narrows from four-lane to two-lane. Then it is only a little over a mile on the right hand side. The house is tan stucco and the apartments are in the white vinyl building next door with an onsite laundry on the ground floor.

* These four apartments, as well as the house next door, have undergone major renovations.

We gutted them all down to the studs, moved some walls, changed most of the electrical and all of the plumbing, added computer networking, cable TV and telephone hook-ups in all bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens, plus insulation in every wall and ceiling that was opened up so that there would be increased sound and heat control.
Then we closed up the walls, adding firewalls, and top-notch drywall finishing.
Then we added nice cabinets and maximized the storage capacity of every closet.
The flooring is a mix of new better-than-average vinyl, hardwood floors, and carpeting.
The lighting, in addition to the numerous windows, is bright, with virtually every room having a large, four-light, 5-blade, reversible ceiling fan.
Each unit is unique; so you must come by to experience the quality and tranquility of the place we call Forests Edge.
Imagine sitting on the porches or looking out the windows at the beauty for which this area is famous: woods, pastures, lawns, and mountain sunsets.
